HOLLAND, Mich. -- Third-seeded Hope College notched a 3-1 victory at home versus No. 4 Trine on Saturday, November 6, to earn the program's fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Soccer Tournament crown.

The Flying Dutch did not waste any time, with a goal at the 1:06 mark by Anneliese Lockner.  Not even three minutes later, Hope's Cassidy Broekhuizen tallied the second goal for the team for a 2-0 lead at 3:59.

Trine made its mark at 23:14 with 2021 First Team All-MIAA player Teresa Ashbrook credited with the goal.

The final goal of the contest was made at the 38:33 mark in the first half, once again by Lockner.

Goalies Isabelle Bertolone of Hope and 2021 Second Team All-MIAA recipient Sophie Aschemeier of Trine both had four saves throughout the game.

Lockner and Broekhuizen led the Flying Dutch with two shots on goal, while Erin Powers totaled two assists.

On the Thunder's side, Bella Mabry had a game-best three shots on goal and Teresa Ashbrook and game high of six shots.

Hope receives the automatic bid into the 2021 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships.  The DIII selection show is scheduled for November 8.  The First Round begins on November 13 and November 14 at multiple sites.
