Four MIAA Women's Soccer Players Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District® Honors

Four women's soccer players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were named to the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® 6 Team.  All four student-athletes will advance to the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America®.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.  First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot.  First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.

Those selected to the All-District® 6 Team include Adrian's Sarah Brannan and Angela Davis, Kalamazoo's Hannah Wolfe, and Olivet's Chelsie Smith.

Brannan, a Chemistry major, boasts a grade-point average of 3.87.  In her junior year, Brannan assisted Adrian to a 2-1-1 conference record.  She earned a spot on the MIAA Honor Roll in 2018.

Davis earned a cumulative GPA of 4.00 at Adrian as an Exercise Science major.  The senior midfielder contributed six shots, three points, one goal and one assist during the spring 2021 season.  Davis was named to the MIAA Honor Roll in 2018.

Wolfe, a senior majoring in Biology at Kalamazoo, has earned a 3.88 GPA.  The Hornet was voted the 2021 MIAA Senior Sportswoman of the Year after helping her team to a 6-3 record and a 4-2 mark in league contests.  She concluded the year with only five goals against for a 0.57 average, a total of 29 saves, and a save percentage of .853.  Wolfe is a dual-sport athlete, competing in both soccer and lacrosse.  She has been named to the MIAA Honor Roll for three-straight years.

Smith also had a perfect grade-point average of 4.00.  The Comet is a senior majoring in Exercise Science.  Smith finished the season with a shooting percentage of .500, two shots, two points and one goal.

CoSIDA's NCAA Division III District 6 includes Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Members of CoSIDA from the district vote on Academic All-District® honors. Student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible.
