Fueled by two early first-half goals by Eve Davis, the Adrian women's soccer team jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead on the way to defeating Kalamazoo, 4-1, in the championship game of the 2019 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer Tournament. The tournament title is the second consecutive for Adrian, who receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

Davis was in the right spot in the 13th and 19th minutes, twice knocking in loose balls in front of Kalamazoo's goal to put the Bulldogs up 2-0. Adrian's Megan Louwers scored in the 32nd minute, and MIAA Most Valuable Player Caroline Fleming added an insurance strike in the 39th minute. Fleming finished with a goal and two assists in the contest.

Kalamazoo got on the board in the 72nd minute, but the Adrian defense held firm. Adrian goalkeepers Ayverie Giller and Kristen Page combined to make six saves; Page stopped two Kalamazoo penalty kicks in the second half.

The 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship field will be announced Monday, Nov. 11 on ncaa.com.
