Hope Women's Soccer Eliminates UW-Whitewater, Falls to Chicago at NCAAs

The Hope College women's soccer team (19-3-1) had its 2017 season come to a close with a 4-0 loss to Chicago in the Second Round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship in Chicago.

The Flying Dutch started their postseason play with a 1-0 victory over UW-Whitewater in the Championship's First Round Nov. 10. Rylie Dalton scored the game's only goal in the 47th minute to help Hope in setting a program record for victories in a single season. Goalkeeper Jordanne Ellingboe solidified Hope's 16th shutout of the season with two saves.

The following day against host Chicago, Hope kept the contest close against the third-ranked Maroons after conceding a goal in the 15th minute until a barrage of three goals between the 73rd and 80th minutes. Ellingboe made four saves in the contest as the Flying Dutch were out-shot 16-9.
