Hope Women's Soccer wins MIAA Tournament title

After trailing by one goal twice in the first half, Hope battled back to not only tie but then take the lead as the Flying Dutch defeated Alma 4-2 Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the 2016 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament. Elizabeth Perkins (Sr., F, Eaton Rapids, Mich.) scored twice, her 24th and 25th goals of the season, while Erin Brophy (Jr., F, West Lafayette, Ind.) scored the game-winner and added an assist in the second half to vault the Flying Dutch to the title. Hope out-shot Alma 17-4 on the day, including a 7-0 advantage in the second half.

Hope awaits its NCAA Tournament placement, which will be announced Monday, Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m.
