Hope Women's Soccer Ends Season with Loss to Lynchburg

The Hope College women's soccer team had its 2016 season end Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament after a 3-2 setback to #22 Lynchburg.

Lynchburg took a 2-0 lead in the first half with two goals in less than two minutes early on. But Hope responded with two quick goals to start the second half; Natalie Curry (Sr., M, Grand Rapids, Mich.) scored in the 47th minute while Erin Brophy (Jr., F, West Lafayette, Ind.) converted in the 49th minute to tie the contest.

Lynchburg scored in the 64th minute, however, and that goal proved to be the game-winner.

Hope, who shared the MIAA regular season title to go with its MIAA tournament championship, ends its season with a 15-4-2 record.
