Hope Women's Soccer Beats Alma, Improves To 9-0 On Season

Freshman Rylie Dalton recorded her second two-goal effort in three games to help the 20th-ranked and undefeated Hope College women's soccer team win 2-1 at Alma on Wednesday.

The midfielder from Rockford, Michigan (Rockford HS), scored twice in the first half to give the Flying Dutch a 2-0 halftime lead. Both were unassisted.

Dalton now has five goals on the season, second only to freshman teammate Rachael Braginton of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS). 

Hope raised its record to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Flying Dutch lead second-place Calvin by one-half game.

Sophomore goalie Mary Clare Theis of East Lansing, Michigan (Haslett HS), made one save for her ninth win of the season.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Flying Dutch host Saint Mary's College at noon at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
