Special night for Paquette

ANGOLA, Ind. – Olivia Paquette scored her first two collegiate goals and that was enough for goalkeeper Cameron Schmidt, who was making her first start of the season, as Albion College earned a 3-0 victory over Trine University.

Albion carried the play early. Jenna Urso took a shot in the seventh minute and the Britons were awarded a pair of corner kicks.

Domenique Sarnecky had a pair of shots blocked, but her third attempt was the charm as it produced her fourth goal of the season. Alyssa Brooks got enough air under her corner kick for Sarnecky to head into the goal.

Paquette produced Albion's goals in the second half. Her sister, Kayla, sent a pass across the box for the first goal a minute and a half into the period. Sarnecky sent a long ball to Paquette for the second score with 15 seconds left in the contest.

Schmidt stopped four shots to gain Albion's fourth shutout of the season.

Albion, 5-3 overall and 3-2 against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals, have a week before returning to action at Olivet College.
