Adrian College Women's Soccer Tie Grove City in Season Opener

Adrian, Mich. – The Adrian College women's soccer team hosted the Grove City College women's soccer team in their season opener. Bulldog senior goalkeeper Lexi Lewandowski finished with a shutout after the 0-0 tie following two ten minute overtime periods.

Bulldog Head Coach Ali Alamdari praised his team's effort along with his senior goalkeeper, ""Grove City is exceptionally organized and difficult to break down in the back, which was a great opportunity for our young attack to sharpen their skills.  More than anything, I'm proud of the fact that our girls weren't comfortable settling for a tie.  I think they'll be ready to compete this weekend in Chicago to stay undefeated and get that first W. [Lexi] was active off of her goalline to collect, clear, and distribute balls throughout the game."

Both teams played a near perfect game defensively totally only 18 shots collectively, Adrian had 11 of the 18 shots, with only six of those shots being on goal.

The Bulldogs are off to Chicago, Illinois to compete in the Chelsea Lloyd Memorial Tournament on September 4 and 5. They will face Wisconsin – Platteville on the first day and Dubuque the second.
