Ray nets first collegiate goal in Albion women's soccer win

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Sam LaRocca scored a pair of first half goals, and Mikaela Ray produced her first collegiate game-winning goal in Albion College's 3-2 victory over Otterbein College.

LaRocca scored a pair of unassisted goals in a two minute span.

Polly Sellers got her head on a corner kick and Megan Gordon scored 2 ½ minutes later as Otterbein forged a tie at halftime.

Ray's goal – the first of her collegiate career – came off a free kick from 10 yards out in the 58thminute.

Albion goalkeeper Maggie Troost stopped five of the seven shots she faced.

Albion will take a 2-1 record into its Sept. 9 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener at Saint Mary's College.
