Adrian College's Bill Schindel Named 2024 MIAA Wrestling Coach of the Year

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) proudly announces Adrian College's Bill Schindel as the 2024 Wrestling Coach of the Year.

This prestigious accolade is a coaches vote based on the achievements of their colleagues both during regular- and post-season competition.

Schindel was selected as the 2024 Wrestling Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to defend the MIAA title with an unblemished record of 4-0.

"This award is more a reflection of how hard each and every individual on this team worked," commented Schindel.  "It’s also important to recognize how much work Coach Nieman and the rest of our coaching staff does to help prepare these young men."

Under the leadership of Schindel, five Adrian wrestlers were named to the 2024 All-MIAA First Team including three-time selection Dylan Wellbaum and two-time honorees Zachary Phifer and Blake Williams.

Schindel is in his eighth year at the helm of the wrestling program and also serves as the Assistant Athletic Director at Adrian.
