OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Donovan King has been tabbed the D3wrestle.com Wrestler of the Week for his performance at the Ohio Northern University Polar Bear Invitational.

King, the No. 1 wrestler at 285 pounds in the d3wrestle.com and National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) rankings, posted a 5-0 record to capture the weight class at the invitational. Four of his wins were falls (2:51, 1:48, 1:18 and 4:31) and the fifth was a 16-0 technical fall. The last pin came in the championship match against NCAA All-American John Fulmer of Lycoming (Pa.) College, who is No. 4 in the d3wrestle.com rankings No. 5 in the NWCA rankings.

King currently has a 10-2 record this season. Six of his 10 wins are falls, and his two losses are against NCAA Division I wrestlers.

"Donovan's confidence and ability to score points has just grown immensely since last season," said Olivet head coach Brandon Brissette. "This weekend, he was dominating the entire time. He even gave up the first takedown in the championship match, but he was just cool and calm, and gets his escape. Donnie then gets his turn on top, breaks the guy and pins him. And that is what we love right now. He has the confidence to win from ways that were different from last year."

Olivet is back on the mats tomorrow when it hosts Cleary University and Henry Ford College, starting at 6 p.m.
