Three MIAA wrestlers qualify for NCAA Championships

FREELAND, Mich. -- Three wrestlers from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) will compete in the 2022 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, March 11-12.

Adrian junior Dylan Wellbaum will represent the league in the 197 weight class after earning a second-place finish with a 3-1 record at the DIII Wrestling Central Regional over the weekend.  His solo regional loss came from the No. 4-ranked wrestler in the country.

Both sophomore Donovan King of Olivet and Albion junior Owen Miller will compete as members of the 285 weight class.  King qualified for the national championship after finishing as the runner-up at Regionals.  Miller became the Albion program's first-ever national qualifier in its inaugural season after finishing third at the regional meet (6-1).

The 2022 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships will be held at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on March 11-12.
