Fourteen MIAA wrestlers and one team earn NWCA Scholar All-American honors

Manhiem, Pa. – On Friday, March 13 the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the 2020 recipients of the Team and Individual Scholar All-American awards with more than 265 student-athletes and 75 teams earning this honor in Division III. The MIAA celebrates 14 individual wrestlers and 1 team that earned these honors.

The 2020 individual Scholar All-Americans must have a minimum 3.2 grade-point average and meet one of the following wrestling criteria: an NCAA qualifier with a winning record; regional place winner (top 8) with a winning record and appeared in at least half of the team's scheduled events; and won at least 67 percent of his matches and appeared in at least half of the team's scheduled events.

Olivet College brings home the team honor while also honoring 10 individuals that include All-MIAA wrestlers Cameron Mahlich (125 lbs) and Reese Wallis (133 lbs.). Other All-MIAA wrestlers earning Scholar All-American honors are Adrian’s Noah Nieman (149 lbs) and Devon Pingel (197 lbs.).
