On July 26, twenty-four student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were named to the 2023 Academic Honor Roll by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Additionally, five women's lacrosse programs from the MIAA were announced as 2023 Academic Honor Squads.
The IWLCA honored 963 student-athletes from 173 different institutions on the 2023 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Alma College leads the MIAA programs with a total of six lacrosse players on the Honor Roll, while five student-athletes from both Albion College and Trine University made the list. Adrian College and Saint Mary's College are both represented by three players. Two student-athletes from Kalamazoo College were recognized on the Academic Honor Roll.
The IWLCA has named 288 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
The five MIAA women's lacrosse programs that were deemed 2023 Academic Honor Squads are Adrian, Alma, Kalamazoo, Saint Mary's, and Trine.
