ALBION – Emily DiRado has been promoted to the position of Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. DiRado takes over after serving as an assistant on staff for the last seven seasons.

With DiRado on staff, the Britons have claimed an MIAA Regular Season and Tournament championship, as well as a berth to the NCAA Tournament in 2019. She has mentored three MIAA MVPs, including the sweep of Offensive and Defensive MVPs in 2022 (Chrystelle LopezAlexis Robinson).

"I am so grateful to [Director of Athletics] Todd Hibbs and all of Albion Athletics for the new opportunity and continued support," said DiRado. "Albion and the sport of lacrosse have given me a lot. It's my turn to give back and get to work with my favorite women on the new chapter of ACWL."

In the seven years DiRado has been part of the Briton women's lacrosse program, the team has posted a 63-41 overall record. 32 players have been selected to All-MIAA teams and the squad has continuously been honored by the league for their academic excellence.

"Emily was the clear choice as the next leader of our women's lacrosse program," said Hibbs. "She is an Albion College alumna who has demonstrated tremendous leadership on our campus for more than a decade – first as a student-athlete, and in recent years as the assistant coach of this successful program. We are thrilled that she will continue to be a Brit for the foreseeable future."

DiRado graduated from Albion in 2016 after four years on the women's basketball team. She later received her Master's degree from Wayne State University in 2017. As a student-athlete, she served as SAAC's Student Athletic Director and has been heavily involved in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.
