Around the MIAA (Through March 10 games)
Adrian (2-1, 0-0)
The Adrian College women’s lacrosse team split last week to bring its record to 2-1 on the year. The Bulldogs opened play at home with a game against Ohio Wesleyan, falling 12-11. The game was tied at halftime and Adrian opened a three-goal lead before surrendering four in a row for the loss. The Black and Gold followed that up by soundly beating Aquinas as home, 19-7. Senior Annie Rice had nine points against Aquinas, to amass 13 points on the week to be named Offensive Player of the Week for the second time.
Albion (2-2, 0-0)
Alma (3-2, 0-0)
Junior midfielder Olivia Benoit (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) scored all eight goals and junior goalie Allie Ray (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made 25 saves but the Alma College women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-8 decision to Mount St. Joseph on Sunday (March 10). Benoit's eight goals are the most in her career and tied for the third-most goals in program history while Ray's save total is tied for the most in the junior's career and was one save shy of the team record. The Scots' earlier game against Hanover was canceled due to inclement weather.
Calvin (2-1, 0-0)

Hope (2-1, 0-0)
Kalamazoo (1-3, 0-0)
The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team dropped two road games over the weekend to North Central (21-13) and Chicago (17-6). Rose Bogard led Kalamazoo with five goals and seven ground balls in the two contests. Rachel Madar collected four goals and 20 draw controls for the Hornets. Maddie Odom had 18 saves in the junior's first two career games in goal. Kalamazoo will return to play on Wednesday, March 13 when it hosts Indiana Tech at 5:30 p.m.
Olivet (0-2, 0-0)
No report submitted.
Saint Mary's (2-1, 0-0)
The Belles postponed their contest against the University of Chicago earlier this week but opened their spring break trip to California with a 19-8 win at Whittier on Sunday. Erin Doyle paced the Belles with eight goals and four assists. The 12 points in a game sets a new program record for points in a single contest as Doyle broke the previous record of 11 points (eight goals, three assists), also owned by Doyle. Kate Kelly had a strong all-around game with three goals, three assists, 10 ground balls, six draw controls, and four caused turnovers. Shannon McCloskey scored on each of the first three shots taken, giving McCloskey a first-ever hat trick.
Trine (2-1, 0-0)
Trine's Kirstin John (South Bend, Ind.) continues her offensive dominance with five goals and an assist as the Thunder took the 13-12 overtime victory against Siena Heights.
