• Alma recovered from a conference-opening loss with an 18-1 win at Olivet April 8. Darby Kahler (Sr., A, Coldwater, Mich.) had team-bests of four goals and seven draw controls.
• Calvin defeated Albion April 8, 10-6, in the MIAA opener for the Knights. a 6-1 lead at the half, thanks to four goals from Amanda Davio (Jr., A, Okemos, Mich.); Davio finished with five goals in the win with four ground balls.
• Hope notched two MIAA victories last week, starting with a 12-11 win over Adrian April 5. In the MIAA opener, Dana Kym (Sr., M, Libertyville, Ill.) scored the decisive goal with five seconds left in regulation to cap a 7-0 run to end the game and earn the road win. Alexandra Webb (Sr., M, Woodland Hills, Calif.) had five goals, two assists, and five draw controls. Along with the win over the Bulldogs, Hope defeated Kalamazoo April 8, 13-8; Emily Deane (Jr., A, Rochester Hills, Mich.) tied Kym for the team lead with four goals and added two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Kalamazoo went 1-1 in MIAA play last week, including a 12-2 victory over Trine April 5. The Hornets posted a 39-16 shots advantage, as Amanda Moss (So., M, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) led in points with two goals and two assists. Nicole Huff (Sr., M, Paw Paw, Mich.) not only tallied three goals for Kalamazoo in the win, but added two ground balls and two draw controls.
• Saint Mary's captured two MIAA wins to start the 2017 conference campaign, cruising to a 21-2 win over Olivet April 5 and a 20-4 victory at Trine April 8. Eleven players shook the net against Olivet, scoring 12 unanswered goals to start the contest. Against Trine, Mary Singler (Fr., M, Louisville, Ky.) notched four goals and four assists, with her assists total setting a program record.
