Adrian Makes Program History in Claiming MIAA Women's Golf Championship Title; Women's Golf All-MIAA Announced

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Adrian College was announced as the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) regular-season champion at the conclusion of six conference rounds:  four jamborees and two rounds in the Fall Final at Bedford Valley Golf Club.  This is the first time in program history that the Bulldogs earned the league crown.  Additionally, the slate of All-MIAA honorees was announced.

Adrian sophomore Olivia Ohmer clinched the honor of the MIAA Most Valuable Golfer after finishing six rounds with a season-best average of 78.17.

Senior Jericha Scharphorn of Calvin University was voted the 2022 Sportsmanship Award honoree by her conference opponents.  The Sportsmanship Award is given to a junior or senior who demonstrates outstanding ethical conduct and golf sportsmanship.

Adrian's Taylor Ross, Alma's Morgan Yates, Calvin's Chandler Sjoerdsma and Hope's Grace VanDellen earned All-MIAA accolades for the third time in their career.  Adrian's Riley Kleck, Hope's Emlin Munch, and Saint Mary's Katelyn Tokarz received All-MIAA honors for a second time, while Adrian's Olivia Ohmer and Lauren Reed, Kalamazoo's Sydney Pickell, Saint Mary's Erin Bennett, and Trine's Grace Dubec are first-time honorees.

As the top-four finishing teams, Adrian, Saint Mary's, Hope and Alma will all compete in the MIAA's Automatic-Qualifying Tournament this spring to determine which program will receive the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
