Around the MIAA
Adrian
Adrian College women's golf team finished the 2019 Pfeiffer University Invitational on a good note, improving seven strokes from Monday's opening round to wind up with a 368+361=729 for eighth place out of 10 teams…junior Brooke Symons carded a 78+87=165 for a tie for 11th place on the 5,800-yard course on The Club at Hilton Head Lakes….The Invitational included NCAA Division II scholarship programs Alderson Broaddus, Malone and Mars Hill, nationally top-5 ranked Rhodes, as well as host and former Division I turned D-III Pfeiffer…Adrian is idle until the April 6 Defiance College Spring Invitational in Swanton, Ohio, at White Pines Golf Course….sophomore Hailey Scott (T-30th), sophomore Hannah McKee (T-42nd) and freshman Alexis Weston (50th) all shot seven shots better on the second day than the first 18 holes—a mark that ranked third in South Carolina.
Albion
Albion's first action of the spring will come Saturday, March 30 at the Alice Lloyd College Spring Invite.
Alma
Alma has April 6 circled on the calendar, when the Scots will participate in the Bump Invitational.
Calvin
Calvin starts the spring Wednesday, March 20 in Orlando, Fla.
Hope
Hope will host Trine Saturday, March 30 for a dual at the Ravines Golf Course.
Kalamazoo
The Hornets return to action Monday, March 25 against Pinewild CC.
Olivet
The Comets will compete at the three-day Jekyll Island Collegiate Classic March 15-17.
Saint Mary's
The Saint Mary's golf team begins their spring season this upcoming weekend when they compete in the Jekyll Island Invitational, which runs Friday through Sunday in Georgia.
Trine
Defeated Baldwin Wallace in a dual match (369-382) and then competed in a tri-match hosted by Webber International, but fell to the Yellow Jackets in the team standings (356-364)...Lyndsey Welper led the Thunder with an 89.0 scoring average in two events to start the spring season.
