INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- For the seventeenth time since the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) began sponsoring women's basketball in 1985, two teams will represent the MIAA in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.
Trine University earned the conference's automatic berth after winning the 2024 MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament title as the No. 3 seed. The Thunder will enter the tournament with an overall record of 21-7, including a 12-4 mark in league play. This is Trine's sixth-consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships under head coach Andy Rang.
Trine will travel to Wisconsin-Oshkosh for a 6:00 p.m. EST first-round contest against Gustavus Adolphus on Friday, March 1. Webster rounds out the four teams in the pod.
Hope College, the 2024 regular-season champion, received an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 24-3 (15-1 MIAA). The twelfth-ranked Flying Dutch are making their eleventh-straight trip to the NCAA postseason competition and their 24th appearance in program history. Hope is led by head coach Brian Morehouse who is currently in his 28th year.
The Flying Dutch will travel to DePauw and face Ripon on Friday, March 1, at 6:00 p.m. DePauw will also host Berea in the four-team pod.
Sixteen first/second-round sites will be conducted March 1-2. Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites March 8-9. Winners of the four sectional sites will advance to the national semifinals/final site on March 14 and 16. All games, except the semifinals and final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. The semifinals/final will be conducted at Capital Center Performance Arena in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by Capital University.
