HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- Following the conclusion of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women's basketball regular season, the nine head coaches voted on All-MIAA awards.
Hope College junior guard Jada Garner was voted the 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Player after assisting the Flying Dutch to the regular-season title with a 15-1 mark in league play and the top seed in the 2024 MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament. In starting all 16 conference contests, Garner finished the 2024 campaign as the conference leader with a .564 three-point field-goal percentage. She is also in the top five with a field-goal percentage of .467. Garner was selected as the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week twice this season.
Calvin University junior forward Valerie Dirkse was named the 2024 MIAA Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Knights to a 12-4 conference record to tie-for-second in the league standings. In starting all 16 MIAA games, Dirkse landed top three in the league with 122 total rebounds (38 offensive, 84 defensive), 7.6 boards per contest, and 45 blocks.
Alma College's Taylor Sas became a four-time All-MIAA honoree in her senior season with the Scots. Albion College's Lolo Reed is now a three-time All-MIAA selection, while Trine's Sidney Wagner has been named to the All-MIAA Team twice in her career.
