Three MIAA Women's Basketball Players Receive All-America Honorable Mention from WBCA

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Calvin University's Gabby Timmer and Hope College's Claire Baguley and Savannah Feenstra were named 2023 Division III Honorable Mention All-Americans by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

Gabby Timmer, a fifth-year center for the Knights, was recently selected to both the D3hoops.com All-Region First Team and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Second Team.  She became a five-time All-MIAA honoree after assisting Calvin to a 12-4 conference record (21-6 overall).  Timmer concluded the season as the league's leader with 192 field goals, 192 defensive rebounds, 277 total boards, 10.3 rebounds per game, 63 blocks, and 483 points.  This year, Timmer broke Calvin's record for career rebounds (1,156) and became the second player in program history to score at least 2,000 career points.  She also is one of four players in program history with at least 200 career blocks.

Senior forward Claire Baugley of Hope was recently selected to both the D3Hoops.com All-Region 7 Second Team and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Third Team.  Baguley was voted to the All-MIAA First Team for the first time in her career after leading the Flying Dutch to an overall record of 26-3, including a 14-2 mark in league contests.  She concluded the 2022-23 season as the conference's leader in both field-goal percentage (.627) and three-point field-goal percentage (.547).

Hope senior forward Savannah Feenstra was recently announced to the D3Hoops.com All-Region 7 First Team after her performance this season.  Feenstra earned a spot on the All-MIAA First Team this season.  She concluded the 2022-23 campaign as the conference leader with 122 free throws and 26.8 points per 40 minutes.
