AUSTIN, Tex. -- Calvin University's Gabby Timmer and Hope College's Claire Baguley both represent the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Academic All-America® Teams selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Fifth-year senior center Gabby Timmer earned Academic All-America® honors for the second-straight year with a spot on the Second Team this season.
Timmer assisted the Knights to an overall record of 21-6, including a 12-4 mark in league play. This year, Timmer averaged 17.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. She is also currently ranked ninth in NCAA Division III with 18 double-doubles this season.
As a Elementary and Health Education major, Timmer has a grade-point average of 3.62.
Senior forward Claire Baguley was selected to the CSC Academic All-America® Third Team this year.
Baguley helped the Flying Dutch to an overall record of 26-3, including a 14-2 conference record. She averaged a career-high 12.4 points per game in her first season as a starter, while also shooting a career-best .627 and a three-point field-goal percentage of .547.
Baguley boasts a grade-point average of 3.97 as an Environmental Science major.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
