FREELAND, Mich. -- For the second straight year, Hope College senior Kenedy Schoonveld was named the Great Lakes Region Co-Player of the Year. while Hope head coach Brian Morehouse was tabbed the region's Coach of the Year for his second-consecutive season. Hope senior Olivia Voskuil and Trine junior Tara Bieniewicz also represented the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on All-Region teams.
Schoonveld, who was also selected to the Great Lakes Region First Team, is a two-time MIAA Most Valuable Player and a four-time First Team All-MIAA honoree. She concluded conference play with a .521 field goal percentage, 15 assists, and started all seven league contests.
Voskuil was named to the All-Region First Team for her second-straight season. She is a three-time MIAA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time First Team All-MIAA selection. Voskuil finish league play first in steals (16) and led the Flying Dutch in rebounds (7.4 RPG), steals (2.3 SPG), and blocks (1.1 BPG).
Two-time First Team All-MIAA player Bieniewicz received All-Region accolades for the second-consecutive year. Bieniewicz led conference play in three pointers with a total of 15 and she averaged a team-best 10.8 points per league game.
Hope's head coach Brian Morehouse earned his third All-Great Lakers Region Coach of the Year. At the helm of the Flying Dutch, Morehouse led the team to another perfect year with a record of 16-0, the MIAA Tournament crown, and the regular-season championship title. Morehouse extended Hope's winning streak to 45 games by the end of the season.
