The 2019 MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament Championship game between top-10 ranked Trine and Hope lived up to the billing, as the host Trine prevailed in the first-ever double-overtime game in MIAA women's basketball tournament history to defeat Hope Saturday evening, 70-65.

Trine (25-2) scored the final six points in the second overtime, with Montana Martin converting on a natural three-point play with less than 17 seconds to go to give the Thunder a four-point lead; Martin then added a free throw in the waning seconds for the final margin.

Cassidy Williams led all scorers with 20 points for Trine, playing 49 of a possible 50 minutes. Brandi Dawson tallied 14 points and tied Williams for the team lead with seven rebounds. 

Hope (23-4) was led by Sydney Miller's 14 points to lead four players in double figures. Kenedy Schoonveld had 13 points and a game-tying high seven rebounds.

Neither team managed to reach a double-digit lead in the instant classic, which featured nine ties and nine lead changes.
