• One of just four teams that remain unbeaten on the year in NCAA Division III, #3/2 Hope added two MIAA wins last week. In their 82-64 win at Alma Jan. 10, Hope benefitted from 41 total points from Madison Geers (Sr., G, Scottville, Mich.) and Francesca Buchanan (Jr., F, Grant, Mich.). The Flying Dutch then tallied a 58-51 win over Calvin Jan. 13, holding the Knights to just 22.2 percent shooting in the fourth quarter. Buchanan led all scorers with 19 points. 

• #11/12 Trine went 2-0 in MIAA play, clamping down on Adrian Jan. 10, 65-29, and Saint Mary's Jan. 13, 51-31. The Thunder, ranked second in NCAA Division III in scoring defense, held Adrian to just 24.4 percent shooting while Hayley Martin (Sr., C, Auburn, Ind.) scored a game-high 14 points in 19 minutes played. In the Thunder's victory over Saint Mary's, the Belles shot just 18.8 percent from the field. Of note, Trine has held MIAA opponents under double figures in scoring in 14 of 28 quarters played.

In the Jan. 16 release of the WBCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, Hope and Trine stayed at No. 2 and No. 12, respectively, for the second consecutive week.
