• The four teams that will participate in the four-team 2018 MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament are set, with seeding to be determined this week. Top-10 teams Hope and Trine are vying for the MIAA regular season title and the rights to host the two-day postseason tournament, while Calvin and Albion are jostling for third and fourth seeds with one week to play. The MIAA Tournament is scheduled for Friday-Saturday, Feb. 23-24, with the top seed hosting all three games.
• #5/#5 Hope escaped with a 70-69 win at Calvin Feb. 7, utilizing a buzzer-beater by Francesca Buchanan (Jr., F, Grant, Mich.) to stay within a half game of Trine in the standings. The Flying Dutch then added a 69-40 win against Saint Mary's Feb. 10.
• #8/#6 Trine added two MIAA wins to move to 14-1 in league play heading into their season finale with Kalamazoo Feb. 17. The Thunder defeated Albion Feb. 10, 67-59, with Montana Martin (Jr., G, Columbia City, Ind.) notching 18 points and six rebounds off the bench. Earlier in the week, Trine topped Saint Mary's, 68-51.
