• Albion gathered two key MIAA wins last week to stay in the top four in the league standings. Against Adrian Jan. 31, the Britons utilized a 23-7 burst in the third quarter to pull away; on the night, Albion grabbed 58 rebounds, aiding in 26 second-chance points. Then, against Calvin Feb. 3, the Brits shot 47.5 percent from the field and out-scored the Knights 32-16 in the paint to earn a 72-67 victory after trailing by as much as 11 points in the first quarter.

• #6/#6 Hope returned to their winning ways last week with a pair of league victories. The Flying Dutch started with a 64-30 win over Kalamazoo Jan. 31, holding the Hornets to just 19.1 percent shooting from the field. The weekend brought a 75-31 win for Hope against Alma, as the Flying Dutch were able to benefit from 50 points by their reserves while pressuring Alma to just 18.9 percent shooting.

• #11/#12 Trine pushed their winning streak to nine games after two MIAA victories last week. The Thunder started with a 67-53 win at Olivet Jan. 31, which was highlighted by Hayley Martin (Sr., F, Auburn, Ind.) hitting the 1,000-point mark for her career. Then, in their 74-35 victory against Adrian, Trine out-scored the Bulldogs 44-20 in the second half.

In the Feb. 6 release of the WBCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, Hope stayed steady at No. 6 in the poll, with Trine also holding steady at No. 8 in the country.
