Propelled by the success of the conference last season, three Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association teams received votes in two NCAA Division III women's basketball preseason polls entering the 2017-18 campaign.
In the WBCA Preseason Coaches Poll released Oct. 31, Hope (T-10th) and Trine (16th) were both listed in the preseason prognostication of eight Division III women's basketball coaches.
D3hoops.com released their preseason Top 25 Oct. 30, where Trine ranked ninth and Hope 13th. Calvin garnered votes in the poll of 25 coaches, sports information directors, and media members across NCAA Division III.
D3hoops.com also selected their preseason All-America team Nov. 7, with Trine's Brandi Dawson (Jr., G, Garrett, Ind.) and Hope's Francesca Buchanan (Jr., F, Grant, Mich.) both being named to the national online publication's preseason All-America second team.
Earlier this week, the MIAA released its preseason coaches poll, with Trine, Hope, and Calvin making up the top three teams as predicted by league head coaches.
