• Albion went 2-0 on the week and moved into a tie for third in the MIAA standings. In the Brits' 108-48 win over Olivet Feb. 1, Emily Zgoda (Sr., G, Wyandotte, Mich.) connected on 13 3-point field goals - which ties for best this season across all NCAA divisions - for a 44-point effort that ranks tied for fourth by a Division III player this season. In Albion's 84-72 victory against Adrian Feb. 4, it was Erin Nelson (Jr., F, St. Clair Shores, Mich.) who stood out with career-bests and game-highs of 22 points and 15 rebounds.
• Alma tallied a pair of MIAA victories to stay alive for an MIAA postseason berth. The Scots defeated Olivet Feb. 4, 65-45, with a 14-point performance by Tara Padgett (Sr., G, Freeland, Mich.) leading the way. Midweek, Alma held off a late Kalamazoo rally to defeat the Hornets, 80-78; Skylr Goodman (Jr., C, Standish, Mich.) shared leading scoring honors with Padgett with 14 points while adding a game-best 10 rebounds.
• Saint Mary's posted their first MIAA win of the season with an all-around effort against Kalamazoo Feb. 4 to prevail, 62-47. Gabby Diamond (Jr., F, Chicago, Ill.) had a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds while Kelsey Ronan (Sr., F, Brentwood, Tenn.) registered nine points, seven rebounds, five assists, and four blocks.
• Hope outscored Calvin 14-6 in overtime to claim a 63-55 victory over the Knights in The Rivalry Feb. 1. Francesca Buchanan (So., C, Grant, Mich.) led the team statistically with 15 points and seven rebounds, but key plays by Allison Hendrick (Sr., F, Naperville, Ill.) on both sides of the ball in overtime helped the Flying Dutch pull away.
• Trine had a mid-week non-conference contest cancelled, but came back with a key 54-46 win at Calvin Feb. 4. Trailing the Knights entering the fourth quarter, the Thunder out-scored Calvin 23-12 in the final stanza to stay tied for first in the MIAA. Brandi Dawson (So, F, Garrett, Ind.) led Trine with team-bests of 18 points and six rebounds.
