GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Calvin University sophomore Brooke Hunderman was named the Wilson/National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

Hunderman (Grand Rapids, Mich./Calvin Christian) is the first Calvin softball pitcher to receive this accolade twice, let alone in back-to-back weeks.

This week Hunderman commanded the circle against Olivet where she threw a career high thirteen strikeouts in what would be her first collegiate perfect game. Prior to Calvin's sweep over Olivet on Saturday, she also saw action against Albion where she recorded eleven strikeouts in seven innings while only giving up four hits as the Knights went on to win 3-0.

This season, Hunderman leads the Knights in innings pitched (79.1) and strikeouts (92) while also posting an earned runs average (ERA) of 1.76.

After this week Calvin improve to a 21-7 overall record and a 7-3 MIAA record. The Knights are also ranked 24th in this weeks NFCA Top 25 poll.

Calvin will be back in action tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24th, in a double header against Ohio Northern. The first game is set to begin at 3:00PM while game two will start around 5 PM.
