ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University softball team secured an automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III Softball Championship by capturing the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Softball Tournament Championship this past weekend. They have now been selected to host a four-team regional beginning on Thursday, May 18.

The Thunder will begin the three-day event by facing off with the winners of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) title and its automatic bid. The other half of the regional will feature a familiar face in the form of Wartburg College, the Knights were the Thunder's first game of the season, earning the American River Conference's automatic bid. They will face Millikin University also earned an automatic bid after winning the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament.
