LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Eleven softball players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were selected to 2023 All-Region VII Teams by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on May 19.
A total of 373 student-athletes from 174 schools comprise the 2023 NFCA Division III All-Region teams.
The awards honor student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with selection to one of three teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.
All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced May 31 online and on-site at the NCAA Division III Finals banquet in Marshall, Texas.
Four players represent the MIAA on the All-Region VII First Team, including Adrian College's Karson Bagelmann, Calvin University's Hannah Biddlecome, and Trine University's Debbie Hill and Anna Koeppl. Carly Dole of Calvin and Trine's Cassie Woods both earned a spot on the Second Team, while Calvin's Sydney Duong, Kalamazoo College's Lucy Hart, and Trine's Alexis Michon, Ellie Trine, and Karley Trine were named to the Third Team.
Trine continues play in the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships this Thursday. The Thunder will face Rowan in Marshall, Texas, at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).
Celebrating 40 years in 2023, the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches.
