Four MIAA Softball Players Receive NFCA All-Region Honors

Four softball players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) received All-Central Region recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on May 14, 2021.

Out of the eight NCAA regions with first, second and third-team honors, a total of 308 student-athletes from 134 programs received accolades.

Pitcher Haley Ullrich and outfielder Taylor Griffith both represent Alma College on the Second Team.  Trine University second baseman Mercede Daugherty was also selected to the All-Central Region Second Team.  Calvin University outfielder Hannah Biddlecome was named to the All-Region Third Team.

The 2021 NFCA Division III All-America teams will be announced on May 24.

Alma and Calvin are currently battling in Grand Rapids, Mich., for the 2021 MIAA Softball Championship title in a best-of-three series.

The NCAA DIII Softball Championship will take place May 27 - June 1 at Moyer Park in Salem, Va.  The selection show is scheduled for Monday, May 17, at 1:00 p.m.
