Week #6 Wrap for March 19-25
• Alma returned to their winning ways with a 3-0 week, including a road sweep of Ohio Wesleyan March 24. In the Scots' 3-1 win over Ohio Wesleyan in the opener, Mary Brooks (Sr., Portland, Mich.) hit the game's decisive home run in the seventh inning. It was one of eight extra-base hits on the day for Alma.
• Calvin wrapped up their spring break trip with a 5-2 record, with their first setback coming to nationally-ranked UW-Oshkosh March 20. In a 1-0 win over New Paltz March 19, Ellie Borst (Fr., Hudsonville, Mich.) threw a complete-game two-hitter while striking out nine.
• Hope rattled off seven wins last week to improve to 11-2 on the season in their spring break trip to Florida. Along with Sydney Jones (Sr., South Lyon, Mich.) posting a no-hitter in Hope's 2-0 win over Plymouth State March 22, the Flying Dutch overwhelmed No. 25 UW-Oshkosh March 23, 9-0 in six innings; Hope held the Titans to three hits while hitting five extra-base hits.
• Olivet won their final five games of their spring trip to Florida to improve to 11-3 overall; to note, the Comets posted 15 victories on the season. Kinslea Blouin (So., Bronson, Mich.) had a .857 slugging percentage for the six-game stretch, with four games with at least two hits.
• Saint Mary's went 3-1 at home last week, with all three victories being shutouts. The Belles shut out Wheaton twice with 10-0 and 6-0 victories. In a 6-0 win over North Central March 24, Saint Mary's gave the Cardinals their first loss in 10 games by holding North Central to just four hits.
• #7 Trine gathered two doubleheader wins last week, including a home sweep of UW-Platteville March 24. After a close 3-2 win over the Pioneers, Trine cruised to a 15-7 win in game two; as a team, the Thunder hit 17-for-34 with five walks and striking out just once.
