• Albion began their 2018 campaign with a two-game set at the Legacy Center in Brighton, Mich. The Britons dropped a 9-5 decision to Cleary before a 4-2 setback to Kalamazoo Feb. 16.
• Kalamazoo got their 2018 spring off to a hot start with two victories. Along with their 4-2 win over Albion, the Hornets tallied a 3-2 victory against Madonna Feb. 16. Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, Kalamazoo walked in a pair of runs with the bases loaded to take a 3-2 lead it wouldn't relenquish.
