Danielle Service (Sr., Utility, Mason, Mich.) went 3-for-6 with two home runs and four RBI against Albion.
• Hope started their MIAA slate with two wins over Adrian April 1. Fueling the Flying Dutch in the 5-1 game one win was Sydney Jones (Jr., P, South Lyon, Mich.), who struck out a program-best 17 batters of the 26 she faced in seven innings of work. Hope then utilized four doubles on the way to a 5-1 game two win over the Bulldogs.
• Saint Mary's moved back over the .500 mark with a 6-0 week, including two doubleheader wins in MIAA action to take the early lead in the conference standings. The Belles gave up just one run against league foes in those four games, as Morgan Raymer (Jr., P, Mt. Washington, Ky.) threw 19.0 innings against MIAA challengers with a 3-0 record, striking out 17 and giving up no earned runs.
• Trine recovered from their first loss of the 2017 campaign with a doubleheader sweep over Calvin April 1. In game one, Danielle Ray (Fr., P, Hamilton, Ohio) and the Thunder held Calvin to two hits while Michaela Hartline (Fr., OF, Niles, Mich.) went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, and four RBI to win, 5-0. Trine then added a 3-2 win, with Ray earning a save after 1.1 innings of work and striking out three.
