After a season that saw them making a run to the final eight of the NCAA Division III tournament, Trine has been picked to repeat as MIAA softball champions for the 2015 season.

The Thunder, who have won 46 consecutive MIAA regular season games dating back to 2012, received eight out of a possible nine first-place votes in the preseason poll of the league's coaches. Hope, which was picked to finish second, received the other first place vote. Coaches could not vote for their own team.

MIAA schools begin non-conference play February 23, with conference action to begin on March 26 when Alma hosts Hope for a doubleheader.
