Calvin University's Nicole Kramer Announced as 2023 MIAA Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) proudly announces Calvin University's Nicole Kramer as the 2023 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

This prestigious accolade is a coaches vote based on the achievements of their colleagues both during regular- and post-season competition.

Kramer was selected as the 2023 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year after leading the Knights to their 36th-consecutive MIAA title and five top-seven finishes individually, including 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Runner Thaine Nederveld.

"It’s an honor to receive this award on behalf of all the work and dedication our athletes have invested in their time as Knights," commented Kramer.  "This is primarily a testament to the team for embracing the grind and consistency that it takes to maintain a high standard of excellence in this sport.  I also can’t speak highly enough of our entire coaching staff and alumni of the program who have contributed mightily to this championship culture that we have here at Calvin.  With a focus on faith, family, academics and of course running, we look forward to enjoying the postseason and representing the conference and region well over the next few weeks."

Under the leadership of Kramer, the Calvin men's team is currently ranked eighteenth in the nation.

The Calvin alum (2010) is in her second year at the helm of the cross country program and also serves as the lead distance coach of the track and field teams.
