Calvin to Participate at 2022 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship, Along With Hope's Vachon

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Calvin University men's cross country team will represent the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) at the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championship, along with Hope College's Connor Vachon.

Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. Calvin was one of 22 teams that was selected at-large.

The Knights concluded the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship in fifth place with 139 points.  Calvin University senior Brandan Knepper led the MIAA runners in the 8K with a fifth-place finish (24:28.5), followed by Hope College sophomore and 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Runner Connor Vachon in eighth place (24:33.7).

Olivet College and the Greater Lansing Sports Authority are hosting the championships November 19 at Forest Akers East Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan.  The men’s race will begin following the women's race at 12:00 p.m.
