Around the MIAA

Adrian

The Bulldogs participated in the Knight Invitational hosted by Calvin on Saturday. Sophomore Robert Diebold led the men with a 72nd place finish and a mark of 26:51.5.


Albion

Albion finished 13th in a field of 24 teams assembled at the Calvin University Knight Invitational. Kiehl Smith, a senior from Jonesville, Mich., was the sixth runner to finish the 8K course. Smith reached the finish line in 25:23.1.


Alma

Alma finished 18th against 24 teams at the Calvin Knight Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 7). Leading the Scots was senior Luke Reed (Benzonia, Mich.); Reed placed 93rd overall in the men's 8K with a time of 27:04.80.

Kalamazoo

Kalamazoo had two members of its team compete at the Knight Invite at the Gainey Athletic Complex to open the season. Jackson Kelly led the duo with a time of 28:03 while Lucas Rizzolo finished with a time of 34:51. Kalamazoo is scheduled to run next on Sept. 13 at the Spartan Invite in East Lansing.


Olivet

Olivet ran Sept. 7 at the Knight Invite. Junior Kyle Markley was the first Olivet runner to cross the finish line, as Markley ran the 8K race in 28:14.7. Sophomore Kyle McDowell was right behind at 28:18.7.


Trine

Trine finished sixth at the Calvin Knight Invitational...Jack Beakas (Auburn, Ind.) placed in the top-15 with a time of 25:32.9 which was good enough for 11th place.
