Calvin Men's Cross Country Coach Diemer Named Region Coach of the Year

Following the 2019 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional race, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced regional award winners.

Calvin men's cross country coach Brian Diemer was named the Division III Great Lakes Regional Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA Nov. 19. The honor is the third in four seasons for the 34-year Calvin head coach. Diemer mentored Calvin to the Great Lakes Region title Nov. 16 with a team score of 43 points.

While competing at the Great Lakes Regional Nov. 16, 11 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association student-athletes garnered All-Region honors for finishing in the top 35 at the event: Adrian's Robert Diebold; Calvin's Jonathan Ellis, Caleb Ferguson, Tyler Johnson, Brandan Knepper, Addison Smith, and Ryan Vreeke; Hope's Nicholas Hoffman; and Trine's Jack Beakas, Levi Neuzerling, and Vilis Vuskalns.
