USTFCCCA Announces NCAA Division III All-Academic Teams for Cross Country

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Jan. 30 the cross country teams and individuals recognized as All-Academic honorees. The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association boasted 12 teams and 18 individuals among those recognized.

Team awards were given to seven MIAA women's programs and five men's programs. Alma, Calvin, Hope, Kalamazoo, and Trine had both of their cross country programs achieve the standard of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale; Albion and Saint Mary's were women's team honorees.

In total, there were 212 women's and 172 men's teams that garnered All-Academic honors in NCAA Division III.

Individually, nine men's MIAA harriers along with nine women met the criteria of earning All-Academic distinction of a GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective NCAA Regional. 

Overall, there were 378 women and 309 men who were named All-Academic Individuals in NCAA Division III.
