Around the MIAA

Adrian

The Adrian College men's cross country team was idle last week. The Bulldogs will compete this Saturday at the Mike Woods Open in Mt. Morris, N.Y.


No. 26 Albion

Albion has not competed since Sept. 8, yet it advanced one spot – to No. 26 – in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association D-III survey released last Wednesday.


Alma

The Alma men's cross country team finished in eighth place at the Raider Invitational on Saturday. Junior Luke Reed (Benzonia, Mich. / Benzie Central) earned the best time for the Scots (25:38.3).

Hope

The Hope College men's cross country team came in seventh place overall out of 13 teams overall competing at the Grand Rapids Community College Invitational on Saturday. The Flying Dutchmen had an inspired race even though their top runners did not compete in this meet. Sophomore Brett Slayton topped Hope by finishing 24th out of 148 runners with a time of 25 minutes and 21 seconds. Slayton improved his best time by more than a minute.


Kalamazoo

The Kalamazoo College men's cross country team finished 13th at the Grand Rapids Community College Raider Invitational this past Saturday at Prairie Woods Park. Caleb Patton posted the top time for the Hornets (28:07) in the 8K event. Preston Grossling followed at 28:17 while Sam Meyer finished in 28:21.


Olivet

The Olivet College men's cross country team finished in 16th-place at the 44th Annual Bill Salter Western Ontario International Invitational. Sophomore Kyle Markley paced Olivet on the 8K course with a 93rd-place finish and time of 26:43.
