Around the MIAA

Adrian

The Adrian College men's cross country team competed at the Tiffleberg Invitational last weekend. Freshman Robert Diebold was the lead runner for the Bulldogs, finishing 11th overall with a time of 28:08.2. Senior Clayton Lange also went sub-30, finishing with a time of 29:25.7, good for a 21st place finish.


No. 27 Albion

Albion was idle from competition last week. The Britons checked in at No. 2 in the Great Lakes region, according to the survey released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association last week. It is the highest regional ranking for the Britons since 2017 (week 3).


Alma

Did not compete.


No. 12 Calvin

Finished fourth overall at Michigan State Spartan Invitational with 117 points, with two runners finishing in the top 30. Jonathan Ellis finished the 8k course in 14th place with a time of 25:37. Tyler Johnson finished 17th with a time of 25:39. Calvin was ranked 12th in the USTFCCCA national poll last week and first in the region.


Hope

The Hope College men's cross country team came in eighth place overall out of 17 teams competing in the Wheaton College (Illinois) Invitational on Saturday. The Flying Dutchmen totaled 268 points in the event that was moved to the morning because of 80-degrees temperatures in Chicago. Senior Nathan Schloff of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS) led Hope by finishing 26th out of 245 runners with a time of 26 minutes and 13 seconds.


Kalamazoo

Olivet

Did not compete.


Trine

The Trine University men's cross country team took four of the top five individual spots en route to placing as the top overall team at the Manchester University Invitational held at the Blue River CC Course in Shelbyville, Ind.
