Women's Recap

Hope College senior Rebecca Markham opened day one of the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a win in the 10,000m run (40:21.10).  Trine University claimed the next three spots with sophomore Sidney Swick as the runner-up (40:51.82), junior Chloe Goodrich in third place (41:01.05), and classmate Hannah Parker in fourth place with a personal-best time of 41:21.43.

Calvin University junior Bella Charron earned a win in the pole vault with a personal record of 3.40m.  Sophomore teammate Katie Seinen was the runner-up (3.30m) and three athletes concluded the event with a mark of 3.20m.

Trine junior Mackenzie Miller notched a victory in the long jump with a season-best leap of 5.44m, followed by sophomore teammate Emma Forker in second place with a season-best 5.30m.  Alma College freshman Lauren Brawt rounded out the top three with a new personal record of 5.24m.

Junior Greta Robrahn earned the second Hope win of the day with a toss of 12.32m in the shot put.  Trine sophomore Abby Sanner concluded the event as the runner-up with a personal record of 12.13m.  Albion College junior Tess Anthony finished third with a season-best throw of 11.89m.

Albion junior Tess Anthony closed out the day's field events with a first-place finish in the hammer throw (45.00m).  Calvin junior Lindsey Kossick earned second place with a toss of 43.68m.  Sophomore Sophia Raymond of Hope finished third with a personal-record toss of 40.93m.

Junior Jenna Allman of Calvin won the 3000m steeplechase after clocking in at 10:52.35.  Sophomore teammate Sophie Bull was the runner-up with a time of 10:52.35, followed by Hope junior Maddy Struck with a personal-best time of 10:59.79.

Men's Recap

Calvin University junior Luke Witvliet opened the conference meet with a victory of over fifteen seconds in the 10,000m run (35:24.47).  Hope College freshman Ian Petruska served as the runner-up with a time of 35:40.40 and was trailed shortly behind by Adrian College sophomore Will Houvener (35:40.68).

Junior Bulldog Cameron Overmyer once again defended his championship title in the pole vault with a personal-best 4.75m which is currently tied-for-26th in the country.  Both sophomore teammate Ethan DeBerry and Trine University junior Nathan Leap concluded the event with a mark of 4.15m.

Albion College senior Armund Gordon Jr. notched a victory in the long jump with a season-best leap of 6.75m.  Senior Jordon Brown of The University of Olivet completed the event in second place (6.64m), followed by Hope sophomore Darion Nundley in third place (6.58m).

Senior Derrelle Murray earned the second Albion win of the day with a 15.83m in the shot put.  Classmate Eddie Hines was the runner-up with a toss of 15.53m and Trine sophomore threw a season-best 14.38m for third place.

Olivet freshman Owen Fremeau closed out day one's field events with a personal record of 49.24m in the hammer throw.  Senior Eddie Hines of Albion threw a season-best 47.93m for second place, while Trine sophomore Colton Zableckis finished in third with a personal record of 47.56m.

Senior Daniel Campbell of Hope won the 2000m steeplechase with a time of 9:25.19.  Junior Eric Swinson of Calvin earned a personal-best time of 9:33.78 for the runner-up position, followed by Hope junior Jonathan Harlow in third with a personal-record of 9:36.37.
