Four MIAA Student-Athletes to Participate at 2023 NCAA Men's Track and Field Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- On Friday, the NCAA announced the selections for the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held May 25-27 at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York.

Four programs in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) will send one competitor to the national event.

Albion College senior Mason Darden qualified for the hammer throw with a toss of 59.78m for the eighth seed.

Trine University senior Jake Gladieux will be competing in two events once again.  Gladieux will first compete in the 110m hurdles as the eleveth seed with a time of 14.31.  He also qualified for the 400m hurdles as the sixteenth seed with a time of 53.05.

The 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Track Athlete, Olivet College senior Jordon Brown, will compete as the thirteenth seed in the 400m run (47.30).  Brown will be joined by Calvin University freshman Koby VanderWoude who is the No. 21 seed with a time of 47.83.

For each individual event contested, including the decathlon and heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.  For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
