USTFCCCA Recognizes MIAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes with Thirteen All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- On May 19, men's outdoor track and field student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) received a total of thirteen All-Region accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Assocation (USTFCCCA).

Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.

Albion College, Calvin University, Hope College, and Trine University were all represented by two student-athletes on the All-Region list.  Adrian College and Olivet College each have one All-Region athlete.

Two MIAA student-athletes earned regional recognition in at least two different events, including Olivet senior Jordon Brown and Trine senior Jake Gladieux.

Brown earned All-Region nods for the 200m dash, the 400m run and the long jump.  He was named the 2023 MIAA Men's Most Valuable Track Athlete following his performance at the MIAA Outdoor Championships.  Brown set a new MIAA record in the 400m run after clocking in at 47.30.  Brown also notched a victory in the 200m dash with a time of 21.51 and was the runner-up in the long jump (7.01m).

Gladieux received All-Region recognition in both the 110m hurdles and the 400m hurdles.  He assisted the Thunder to their third-straight MIAA Championship title by notching victories in both hurdle events at the conference meet.  Gladieux finished the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.84 and clocked in at 53.53 in the 400m hurdles.

Both Brown and Gladieux qualified for the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 25-27 at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York.  Brown will compete in the 400m run and Gladieux in both hurdle events.  All-Region honoree Mason Darden of Albion will participate in the hammer throw on the national stage.
