Calvin University's William Hofmann and Hope College's Nick Hoffman both earned a spot on the 2021‐22 Academic All‐District® Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as announced by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

The 2021‐22 Academic All‐District® Men’s Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student‐athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First‐team Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second‐ and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in mid‐June.

Junior William Hofmann boasts a 3.89 grade-point average as an Environmental Science major at Calvin.  Hofmann earned All-MIAA honors after the 2021 MIAA Cross Country Championship, followed by All-MIAA status after a first-place finish in the 5,000m run at the 2022 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Hope senior Nick Hoffman received Academic All‐District® honors with a GPA of 3.79 as an Accounting major.  Hoffman became a two-time All-MIAA honoree in cross country this season.  A first-place finish in the one-mile run earned Hoffman All-MIAA accolades at the 2022 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, along with All-MIAA honors for his performance in the 1,500m run at the 2022 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
